On a recent Thursday morning, witnesses became alarmed when a man began waving a knife near restaurant patrons on the 3900 block of State Street. Officers called to the scene met with the agitated man, who refused to show his hands. After failing to comply to demands, the man, who at one point reached into his pockets, was finally subdued with the use of a non-lethal taser gun.After the man’s arrest for resisting an officer, he was searched. In the 64-year-old subject’s pocket, officers found a folding pocketknife.
