The first Second Thursday at the Museum event, part of a new monthly series at the Santa Ynez Chumash Museum and Cultural Center, will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 11.

Featured speaker for June is Santa Ynez Chumash community member Beau Armenta, founder of TreeFish Copper, whose products can be found at the Museum Gift Shop.

“My Chumash heritage is deeply woven into my being,” Armenta said. “Working with copper out in nature echoes the traditions of my ancestors, connects me to the land in a profound way and allows me to honor my roots.”

Armenta’s talk, which is free to attend, includes a lecture and demonstration by the artist, as well as free museum admission to the Permanent Exhibit, Temporary Exhibit, and Cultural Park. No reservation is required.

Audio tours can be added for $10 per person.

The new Temporary Exhibit is titled “Between the Three Worlds: Ceremony ad Community in the Paintings of Christopher Evans.”
