During its 37th Annual Staff Recognition ceremony, held virtually on March 31, the Santa Barbara County Probation Department honored probation personnel for their accomplishments in 2021.
Opening remarks were given by Chief Tanja Heitman, Presiding Judge Gustavo Lavayen, and Board of Supervisors Chair Joan Hartmann.
Award recipients included:
Support Staff of the Year: Senior North County Administrative Office Professional (Sr. AOP) Buffy Harrington, and South County Sr. AOP Lesley Stewart.
Pretrial Staff of the Year: Santa Maria AOP Beatriz Olea.
Institutions Staff of the Year: Los Prietos Boys Camp Senior Deputy Probation Officer (Sr. DPO) Crystal Crockett and Santa Maria Juvenile Justice Center Sr. DPO Jeremiah Gerue.
Deputy Probation Officer of the Year: Santa Maria DPO Miguel Ochoa, Santa Barbara Sr. DPO Mike Rivera, and Lompoc Sr. DPO Bonnie O’Neill.
Supervisor of the Year: Juvenile Justice Center Sr. AOP Michelle Perez-Ybarra.
Bulldog Award: Adult Probation Division.
Star Award: Juvenile Justice Center Supervising Probation Officers Miguel Monge, Tiffany Phillips and Lesli Stamm, and Probation Manager Barton Clark.
Chief’s Award: Probation Manager Elizabeth Krene.
