The Santa Barbara County Public Health Department reported a total of 209 new COVID-19 cases in the three-day period since Friday.

According to the Community Data Dashboard, 91 cases were reported on Saturday, 82 on Sunday and 36 on Monday.

As of Monday, there were 11 COVID-19-positive individuals hospitalized throughout the county — with two of them being treated in local intensive-care units — and 510 COVID-19 cases are currently considered still infectious or “active.”

Of the 209 COVID-19 cases reported over the weekend, 52 were in the Santa Barbara area and 40 were in the Goleta Valley.

The Santa Maria Valley reported 38 cases since Friday and the Lompoc Valley accounted for 29 cases.

Isla Vista logged 24 new cases, and the Montecito-Summerland-Carpinteria area had 13 new cases.

The Santa Ynez Valley recorded nine new cases and there were four cases pending geographic location since Friday.

Since the pandemic began in early 2020, the Public Health Department has reported a total of 87,631 COVID-19 cases and 687 coronavirus-related deaths.
