COVID-19 vaccination clinics are planned this week for young children in Santa Barbara and Lompoc, in addition to ongoing shot availability at pharmacies and healthcare providers.

Vaccine doses have been authorized for use in people as young as 6 months old to reduce the risk of severe illness from COVID-19. The vaccines are available for free.

Santa Barbara County residents have an overall COVID-19 vaccination rate of 68.9%.

Older adults have the highest vaccination rate by age group, and young children have the lowest vaccination rate, according to Public Health Department tracking.
