The Creative Lab, a new art studio for kids in downtown Santa Barbara, is opening this spring, offering process-based, hands-on art experiences for kids ages 5-14 years in clay, painting, photography, mixed media.

Each class is designed to encourage creative expression and skill development in a relaxed, judgment-free environment, the studio said.
“We created The Creative Lab to be the kind of space we wish existed when we were kids,” said founder Miri Ladomery. “A space that feels warm and inspiring, where kids are encouraged to try new things, get a little messy, and grow — not just as artists, but as people.”
The Creative Lab will open for soft launch weeks beginning May 27-June 13, offering a limited preview schedule that includes drop-in art sessions, creative mornings for ages 3 to 4, and Kids Night Out events.
Enrollment is also open for weekly summer art camps starting in July and fall after-school classes. Families are encouraged to stop by, explore the space, and learn more about upcoming programs.
“The studio’s goal is to become Santa Barbara’s go-to creative hangout — a place where kids can create, connect, and feel at home,” the Creative Lab said.
As the studio grows, The Creative Lab plans to offer seasonal workshops, school partnerships and community events that celebrate creativity in all its forms.
