The Lompoc Solid Waste & Urban Forestry divisions are hosting a Spring Spruce Up event, where Lompoc residents will be able to pick up mulch and compost for free, 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 5, at the Corporate Yard, 1300 W. Laurel Ave.

Residents are asked to bring their own containers and tools for collection. Each household may collect up to five containers.
