Pacific Conservatory Theatre (PCPA) invites young performers to try out for Disney’s ‘Frozen,’ 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23 at PCPA’s rehearsal studios at the Columbia Business Center (back of Shepard Eye Center), 900 E. Stowell Road, Santa Maria.
PCPA is seeking four young actors to play the roles of Young Anna/Ensemble and Young Elsa/Ensemble. Individuals of all ethnicities and genders are invited to audition.
Auditioners will sing in the order they arrive. Some will be asked to stay and read from the script, as well as dance.
For the tryouts, kids should prepare (memorize) about 60 seconds of a song from a musical and bring sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided.
Rehearsals start Sept. 23, and “Frozen” plays in the Marian Theatre on the Allan Hancock College campus Nov. 6-Dec. 21.
Rehearsals for summer performances start June 27. The show runs at Solvang Festival Theatre July 5-Aug. 2. (Supervised transportation to Solvang provided.)
Complete rehearsal and performance schedule information will be available at the auditions.
PCPA said it hopes to cast the same young actors for both runs of the show.
Young Anna/Ensemble and Young Elsa/Ensemble will be required to attend most rehearsals. Rehearsals typically take place Tuesday through Friday evenings, and all day Saturdays.
Performers should be prepared to miss some school during the week before opening, as well as for the Wednesday and Thursday matinees.
The following roles require a significant time commitment; PCPA said it plans to double cast the parts.
