The Downtown Santa Barbara Annual Awards Breakfast, presented by Southern California Edison, is seeking help from the community to recognize the businesses, people and organizations that make Santa Barbara thrive.

Community members are urged to nominate deserving candidates in the following categories by the Jan. 17 deadline:

Entrepreneur of the Year: Recognizes a business owner who has made a significant contribution to the downtown community through their innovation, hard work and dedication.

Citizen of the Year: Recognizes an individual who has made a positive impact on the downtown community through their volunteerism, advocacy or other efforts.

Business Champion of the Year: Recognizes a business that has gone above and beyond to support the downtown community, either through their products or services, or through their philanthropic efforts.

Volunteer of the Year: Recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to the downtown community through volunteerism and selfless dedication to helping others. 

To nominate an individual or business, contact Robin Elander at robin@downtownsb.org with the name of the person or business and why you believe they are deserving of one of the awards.

The Annual Awards Breakfast will be 7:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15 at El Paseo Mexican Restaurant. Tickets for the Annual Awards Breakfast are $50 and include a breakfast buffet. Get tickets here.

With more than 1,700 members, Downtown Santa Barbara serves as the advocate for the stakeholders of historic Downtown Santa Barbara. It also manages the Downtown Santa Barbara Business Improvement Districts, working to create a vibrant place for visitors, investors and residents.
