Roosevelt Elementary School invites all Roosevelt community members, past and present, to its Centennial Celebration, 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 7 at the school, 1990 Laguna St., Santa Barbara.

Commemorating 100 years of educational excellence and community the school will host a carnival-style event featuring activities for all ages and abilities.

Each grade will host a booth representing a decade from 1920s-2000s, giving guests a chance to experience the sights, sounds and tastes of Roosevelt’s history.

The festivities will include a birthday song, and a cake-cutting ceremony to mark the historic event. Attendees can purchase refreshments from a variety of local food trucks, and buy tickets for bounce houses.

“We are thrilled to celebrate this incredible milestone in Roosevelt Elementary’s history,” said Principal Valerie Galindo.

“The Centennial Celebration is a testament to our enduring legacy of academic excellence and community involvement,” she said. “We look forward to welcoming all members of the Santa Barbara community to join us on this joyous occasion.”

In addition to the June 7 party, Roosevelt School will host a special tribute honoring the career achievements of Barbara Barr, who has dedicated 35 years of service to the Santa Barbara Unified School District, including stints at Cleveland, Franklin, Adams and Roosevelt elementary schools.

To secure a spot at the Centennial Celebration, attendees should RSVP by June 5 to 100party@rooseveltreef.org with their name, email, and association with Roosevelt Elementary School.
