Most of us can name our resting heart rate, our sleep score, and our step count but few know anything about the organ running all of it.

NeuroField Neurotherapy will host Demystifying Neurotherapy, a free community talk, 5:15-6:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8 at the Faulkner Gallery in Santa Barbara’s Main Library, 40 E. Anapamu St. Doors open at 5 p.m. with light refreshments.

The talk is designed to take the mystery, the jargon, and the intimidation out of brain health care, while informing the community how they can brainmax their mental health, according to event organizers.

The program will include an introduction; a live EEG and neurostimulation demonstration putting brain activity on screen in real time; and before-and-after patient brain maps highlighting the improvements seen after multi-modal neurotherapy.

An open Q&A and a community prize drawing close out the night.

Leading the evening are Dr. Tiff Thompson, founder/CEO of NeuroField Neurotherapy, and Dr. Nicholas Dogris, CEO/co-founder of NeuroField.

They will take on common questions like:

What is neurotherapy, and how does it work? Who does it help, and for what? What is the difference between neurofeedback and neurostimulation, and what does multimodal mean?

What does the whole process look like, from a first brain map to a last session? Is it safe for the whole family?
