The Santa Maria Utilities Department is hosting a free Recycle Bundle Distribution Event, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14 to celebrate America Recycles Day.
Community members can pick up their free bundle at the Recycling Park at the Santa Maria Regional Landfill, 2065 E. Main St.
The bundle includes the following complimentary items:
1. A six-gallon recycling container with handle, good for paper, cans, glass and bottles; fits easily under a sink or in a pantry.
2. A 14-gallon recycling container, good for larger recyclables, cardboard, cereal boxes, newspaper and magazines.
3. Countertop kitchen pail to help collect food waste and minimize odors before depositing food waste into the organics container for disposal.
4. Reusable shopping bag made from plastic bottles.
Limit one of each per household, while supplies last. (Santa Maria city customer verification may be required.)
In the event of inclement weather the event will be cancelled.
