Letitia Bradley has been named the new assistant superintendent of instructional services for the Goleta Union School District (GUSD).

She will succeed Mary Kahn who was approved as GUSD’s next superintendent.

Bradley has 24 years of experience working numerous roles in education including: elementary school teacher in Lynwood, California; a counselor in Compton, California; after-school coordinator, high school principal and assistant principal; and director of leadership support services for Santa Barbara County Education Office.

She also served as director of student support services for Santa Paula Unified School District; and as adjunct professor for the University of Redlands.

Bradley mentioned her time working for the Santa Barbara County Education Office as the director of leadership support services as a highlight of her career.

“I had an opportunity to not only help develop some of the future administrators for Goleta, but also to coach some of the principals in the district,” she said. “It’s exciting to come full circle because I used to live in Goleta before I moved to my most recent job.”

She said her job as assistant superintendent of Instructional Services was a bridge builder and a remover of barriers.

“Goleta is an amazing place with a lot of strong structures.,” Bradley said. “My job is to come in and support the existing structures and identify opportunities to expand what is already happening.”

Improved equitable systems, programs, and services for students, expanding implementation of the science of reading, and student academic, social and emotional growth are all goals of Bradley when she begins her new role.
