UCSB Arts & Lectures (A&L) opens its 2023-24 performance season with a show by five-time Grammy-winner Jacob Collier, 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1 at Campbell Hall.

Moving across jazz, pop and R&B, Collier creates soundscapes using layered vocal tracks and digital editing techniques. His multi-frame, multi-instrumental viral videos and five Grammy wins have earned him an international following and a roster of collaborators ranging from Coldplay and SZA to Hans Zimmer.

Pre-concert festivities on the plaza in front of Campbell Hall begin at 6 p.m. There will be food trucks and a live DJ set by KCRW program director Anne Litt.

At age 28, Collier already boasts five Grammy wins along with 11 Grammy nominations including Album of the Year in 2021. Collier’s voice has been featured on recent songs from the Coldplay, SZA, Stormzy, and Kehlani.

“Djesse,” Collier’s most recent four-volume album project, includes collaborators from all over the world and musical themes that encompass everything from orchestral composition to folk songwriting, R&B, rap and pop.

Tickets are $55-$125, general public;v$20,vUCSB students with current student ID. Top tier tickets at $125 include a separate event prior to the concert (limited availability).
