Hospice of Santa Barbara (HSB) welcomes 2020 with “Gratitude” by hosting Monica Bartos’ first solo gallery show. An opening art reception will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. Jan. 22, from the Leigh Block Gallery, inside HSB, 2050 Alameda Padre Serra, Ste. 100. There will be light bites, wine, and live music by Adam Peot.

Bartos’ work focuses on the simple aesthetics of everyday imagery, in search for depth and beauty in those moments. Gratitude is her exploration of appreciation for her physical body, which suffers from a lifetime of chronic illness. Bartos was born and raised in Santa Barbara, where she currently lives, working as an artist and seamstress.

“Monica’s beautiful work reflects the process of healing through appreciating what you have now. We are honored to start 2020 with Gratitude, something that often helps us get through our grief,” said David Selberg, CEO of Hospice of Santa Barbara.

The exhibit will remain on display through April. Twenty-five percent of the art gallery’s total sales will benefit HSB. For more information, call 805-563-8820 or visit www.hospiceofsantabarbara.org.
