The Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Workforce Development Board and the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce, have announced an informative Lunch & Learn Workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 12-1:30 p.m. with check-in beginning at 11:30am at the Dick DeWees Community Center, 1120 W. Ocean Ave., Lompoc. Lunch will be provided.

The workshop will highlight strategies for boosting your workforce at no additional cost, focusing on the Paid Work Experience Program offered through the Workforce Development Board. This innovative program allows businesses to provide work experience opportunities to individuals who have been justice-involved, with 100% of wages and liability covered for up to 300 hours.

During the workshop, you will learn how businesses can benefit from the Paid Work Experience Program by offering employment opportunities to justice-involved individuals. You will also discover how businesses can interview and select candidates as they would for any other position, ensuring the right fit for their workforce needs. All program participants have completed job readiness training, ensuring they are prepared for the workplace. Businesses can help create meaningful employment opportunities while having all wages and liabilities fully covered by the Workforce Development Board.

Even if your business is not currently ready to take on an employee, or if you are interested in exploring other paid work experience programs, you are encouraged to attend and learn about the various workforce development resources available. This workshop is free to attend, but RSVP is required by Oct. 8.
