An injured mountain biker was rescued Sunday afternoon from a remote trail off Paradise Road in Los Padres National Forest.

Personnel from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, county Search & Rescue and the forest service were dispatched shortly after noon, county fire Capt. Scott Safechuck said.

Rescue crews were sent to a site off Paradise Road in the area of the Camuesa Connector Trail and the Santa Ynez River, he added.

He said a 42-year-old woman mountain biking in the area had injured her lower leg and needed help.

The county Air Support Unit’s Copter 308 also responded to take the injured woman to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, Safechuck added.
