The annual Community Interfaith Thanksgiving Service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26 at the First United Methodist Church, 305 E. Anapamu St. in downtown Santa Barbara. The theme of this year’s service is Transforming Trauma Into Hope.

The Greater Santa Barbara Area Clergy Association includes clergy and religious leaders from more than 100 local faith communities, who come together for an evening of song, prayer and praise to celebrate and reflect upon unity, peace, hope, and blessings from diverse religious traditions.
 
Participants will include representatives of the Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Unitarian, Catholic and Protestant traditions.

Special music will be provided by Glen Phillips of Toad the Wet Sprocket, Combined Interfaith Choir, and Threshold Singers.

A free-will offering will be collected for the Freedom 4 Youth organization, providing support services to previously incarcerated youth to reduce recidivism challenges.

Guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable packaged or canned goods for Unity Shoppe. Refreshments and fellowship in the church hall will follow the service.
