The Jewish Federation of Greater Santa Barbara invites community members to join the federation at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 23 to commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Participants can view the newly digitized Portraits of Survival Holocaust exhibit, featuring the stories of 43 local survivors, followed by a community service.
The commemorative evening will feature Erika Kahn’s firsthand account of her escape from Berlin; reflections from Congregation B’nai Brith’s confirmation class about its recent trip to Poland; and a candlelighting service led by Cantor Mark Childs and Rabbi Daniel Brenner, honoring the six million who perished.
The event is open to everyone.
