Many in America are breathing a sigh of relief with President Donald Trump taking the reins of this runaway nation.
In fact, I suspect quite a few from the opposition party are relieved as well.
These last four years have been hard to bear, but those days are now behind us. Sadly, there’s been much carnage caused by the bureaucratic rule of the last administration.
But let’s move to higher ground.
Here’s my observation: These past four years were the result of many eligible voters falling asleep at the wheel. Let’s just admit our failure. The popular vote and the Electoral College went to the Democratic Party ticket and “we the people” allowed liberals to not only secure the executive branch but also slimly take control the Senate.
That, along with an autocratic bureaucracy, created an out-of-control federal government that, at least in my opinion, greatly misrepresented the people it was first obliged to serve nearly 250 years ago.
Fortunately, Trump was willing to take to task the current establishment once again. As I see it, God placed him in this precarious position for “such a time as this.”
And, God also raised up an army of faithful followers from all facets of life to bring America out of the depths of our self-inflicted depravity.
That’s how our Lord has been working with His creation from the very beginning of time as we know it.
What I find most interesting is the process of God placing certain people in positions of power throughout the centuries.
Perhaps I should use the term “allow” to be in such powerful positions. Many of them have certainly not followed His Ten Commandments or the new commandment to love God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, and to love others as we love ourselves.
Some have demonstrated no love for God at all. But they’ve all been under His Mighty Right Arm.
What I believe we have witnessed this past year is the renewal of many hearts — starting with Trump’s heart.
In fact, I truly believe God has rekindled the hearts of this nation, which led to an overwhelming surge of support for change here in America.
God’s decrees have been placed in the hearts of the nation and we’re about to witness an era of turning back to Him here and in many other countries whose eyes will be closely watching what happens in these coming days, months and years.
My hope is this renewal will find its way throughout the world in these coming years. Scripturally, I know this will not last, but I pray there will be a resurgence of righteousness and that God will be pleased with mankind for a season.
And may God once again bless America!
