Central Coast Growers (CCG) will host a conversation on Food Safety and Sustainability, 1-5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27 in the community garden space at Allen Hancock College, 800 S. College Drive, Santa Maria.

At the event, which is free to attend, participants can meet with fellow farmers for live demonstrations, practical resources, and a free lunch, all while helping shape climate-smart farm solutions.

“Central Coast growers are navigating increasing pressure to meet food safety requirements while maintaining conservation practices that protect soil, water, and long-term farm viability,” organizers said.

The community event creates space for discussions about how those priorities intersect, what’s working, what’s challenging, and where better solutions are needed, CCG said.

Attendees can complete a short survey and contribute to group discussions that will directly inform future programs, technical assistance, and policy recommendations to support climate-smart agriculture.

As a thank you, participants will be entered into a giveaway drawing.
