Jose R. Brito has joined Community West Bank as senior vice president and chief risk officer, Community West Bancshares has announced. Community West Bancshares is the parent company of Community West Bank. Brito will lead the bank’s Risk Management Group, including the compliance and audit teams.

“Jose’s very broad and deep executive level experience with enterprise risk management and quantitative analysis will serve our bank well as we continue to focus on growing Community West Bank’s presence throughout Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties,” said Martin E. Prior to joining Community West Bank, Brito served as an independent risk management consultant; as head of capital stress testing and risk management re-engineering at Silicon Valley Bank; and as senior vice president, risk management and capital planning analytics at BBVA Compass Bank.

He earned a master of business administration from The George Washington University, and a graduate certificate in theoretical statistics from Colorado State University.
