On a recent morning, with the smell of coffee and fresh croissants wafting from a nearby bakery, I sat down with Robin Deinhard, a stylist and longtime buyer at Angel, a mainstay Montecito women’s boutique.

Angel, part of the Wendy Foster / Pierre Lafond legacy of fashion and lifestyle excellence, recently moved to 1150 Coast Village Road, across from Tre Lune Ristorante-Bar and a couple of blocks down the street from its longtime outpost.

The new location — a 1,500-square-foot shop with double picture windows on the street and high ceilings — is in the former home of First American Title. It also counts a range of retailers and restaurants as its neighbors.

Angel has consistently offered the most contemporary assortment of style for generations of women, including my daughters and me. The store draws inspiration from coastal, resort living, and features everyday basics, fine jewelry and specialty pieces from around the globe.

For the last 15 years, Deinhard has been an integral part of the scene.

“Angel will always strive to be a ‘go-to’ for the Santa Barbara gal — whether indulging in a little ‘me time,’ shopping for a special occasion or trip, or stopping in to pick up a beautiful gift for a girlfriend,” she told Noozhawk.

The new shop will not disappoint regulars, but will open up a world with the same luxe closet staples and an equally elevated shopping experience in a warm and welcoming environment.

Angel still offers reliable wardrobe essentials like cashmere, denim and cotton basics from go-to brands like White + Warren, Citizens of Humanity, Mother, Xirena and perfectwhitetee, plus a thoughtful selection of bath and body indulgences, gifts and fine jewelry, sunglasses, hats and handbags.

With fall here, new denim washes and silhouettes, corduroy, cashmere sweaters and puffer jackets are at the ready. New lines and new favorites, including the recently launched Le Jean, have also been added.

“We are extremely grateful to have landed in such a beautiful space,” Deinhard said. “We have warm, welcoming neighbors and a supportive local landlord who shares the same values in enhancing and supporting our beloved community!”

Angel is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
