The Lompoc Parks & Recreation Division will offer Kickin’ in the Park this summer, a free introductory Korean karate program for youth ages 5-16.

The program will take place on select Saturdays throughout June and July (see below) at local neighborhood parks.

Designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of Korean karate in a fun and welcoming outdoor environment, the program encourages youth to stay active, build confidence, and learn basic martial arts techniques, organizers said.

Sessions will be 9-10 a.m. on the following dates:
• June 13 – Ryon Park
• June 20 – Beattie Park
• June 27 – Briar Creek Park
• July 11 – Beattie Park
• July 18 – Ryon Park
• July 25 – Beattie Park

Guardians are required to remain present with participating youth for the duration of each session.
