The Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department invites women ages 21 and older to gather their closest friends for Ladies’ Night In: Galentine’s Evening Social, a celebration of friendship, self-care, and fun.
The event will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7 at the Elwin Mussell Center, 510 E. Park Ave.
Galentine’s Day is a celebration of female friendship, created by the TV show “Parks and Recreation,” where the character Leslie Knope declared Feb. 13 as a day to honor her best girlfriends.
Since its introduction in 2010, the day has become a widely recognized occasion for women to gather and appreciate their friendships.
Attendees can participate in creative and relaxing activities, including making personalized scrubs and balms, enjoying refreshing spritzers and mocktails, and playing lively games with opportunities to win prizes.
All materials for the DIY activities will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to dress up for the occasion.
Ticket costs are $20 for city residents; $25 for non-residents.
Spaces are limited, so early registration is suggested; register online at www.cityofsantamaria.org/register.
Direct questions regarding the event to the Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department, 805-925-0951 ext. 2260.
