October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Santa Barbara County’s Women
Winemakers & Culinarians Foundation
will offer a month-long sweepstakes
contest to fund assistance offered to women diagnosed with breast cancer.

“The women winemakers of our foundation have donated more than seven dozen
bottles of rosé wines to allow the Breast Cancer Resource Center to continue to offer (free) support services,” said winemaker Karen Steinwachs, co-founder of the WW&CF
and the Women Winemakers & Culinarians Celebration.

“As the pink ribbon symbolizes hope, courage and the fight against the disease, so
do pink wines.”

Steinwachs, whose wine label is Seagrape Cellars, has rallied other women
winemakers, with the effort netting more than 84 rosés, as well as a few orange
wines, she said.

Throughout October, the foundation will offer eight chances to win; each draw will include 10 to 12 bottles, she noted.

More information and tickets will be available soon at sbwomenwinemakers.com/events/. Steinwachs said tickets will be $20 each or six for $100.

As of Sept. 16, the participating winemakers and their labels are Alice Anderson, Amevive; Kristin Bryden, Zaca Mesa; Allyson Bycraft, Babcock; Brooke Carhartt, Carhartt; Amy Christine, Holus Bolus and Wine Slut; Anna Clifford, Final Girl Wines; Anna DeLaski, Solminer; Sunshine Doench Stricker, Future Perfect; Magan Eng; Kunin; Tara Gomez and Mireia Taribo, Camins 2 Dreams; Kristin Harris Luis, Cote of Paint; Christi Heck, Lavender Oak; Amber Hogan, Amber Rose; Jessica Gasca, Story of Soil; Laura Hughes, LouBud; Lorna Kreutz, Foley and Lincourt Wines; Sonja Magdevski, Clementine Carter; Megan McGrath Gates, Lucas & Lewellen; Alecia Moore, Two Wolves; Samra Morris, Alma Rosa; Clarrisa Nagy, Riverbench; Angela Osborne, A Tribute to Grace; Adrienne Rule, Rideau; Jill Russell, Cambria; Wynne Sargeant, Peake Ranch; Steinwachs, Seagrape; Alison Thompson, Lepiane; Gretchen Voelcker, Luna Hart Wines and Piazza Family Wines; and Brit Zotovich, Dreamcote.
