A team from the Santa Barbara City Fire Department has deployed to Mammoth to help out following a season of heavy snow that has created hazardous conditions in the community.

The Urban Search & Rescue-71 and a six-person team were sent to Mammoth “to support the community and fellow first responders following recent storm events,” department officials said on Twitter.

They’re not the only ones being deployed to assist other communities after a rainy and snowy winter and early spring.

The Santa Maria Fire Department sent a crew to Tulare County in the San Joaquin Valley to help after flooding from the abnormally high amount of rain.

Typically, firefighters in Santa Barbara County are sent to assist with massive fires burning around California.
