Santa Barbara’s original Home & Garden Expo is entering a new chapter under the ownership of longtime local resident Heather Luikart, who said she “is committed to preserving the event’s legacy while bringing fresh energy and renewed community involvement.”

The 2026 Santa Barbara Home & Garden Expo takes place Saturday, Aug. 29, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 30, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Earl Warren Showgrounds, 3400 Calle Real, Santa Barbara.

Admission and parking are free.

“Originally established as Santa Barbara’s premier home show, the Expo has been a trusted tradition for homeowners for years,” event organizers said.

“Under new local ownership, the event remains committed to supporting local businesses while continuing to provide residents with a one-stop destination related to home improvement, remodeling, and home services,” they said.

“As someone who has been part of this community for many years, it’s an honor to carry on the tradition of Santa Barbara’s original Home & Garden Expo,” said Luikart, who also produces the event.

“Our goal is to celebrate local businesses, create meaningful connections between exhibitors and homeowners, and ensure this beloved event continues to thrive for years to come.” she said.

Highlighting the show are shipping containers transformed into stylish, functional, and eco-friendly residences.

“These accessory dwelling units (ADUs), are durable structures, reduce waste but also create affordable housing solutions to meet evolving needs of modern living,” organizers said.
