The community is invited to join the Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce for a mixer hosted by the Lompoc Family YMCA, 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 at the YMCA, 201 W. College Ave., Lompoc.

Open to all community members, the free event and offers a chance to learn more about the YMCA’s programs and services; engage in networking opportunities; enjoy healthy snacks and food; participate in raffle giveaways; and tour the facility.

The highlight of the evening will be the Grand Opening of the YMCA’s newly launched Teen Activity Program, a space dedicated to empowering middle and high school students from the Lompoc Unified School District (LUSD).

The center offers teens access to state-of-the-art gym equipment; a teen lounge for relaxation and connection; and a variety of programs facilitated by local small businesses at no cost to students.

The Lompoc Family YMCA, a branch of the Channel Islands YMCA works in the community by providing key services, including school age-child care at nine local school sites in collaboration with the LUSD.

Additionally, the YMCA will be kicking off its annual campaign in February, with a goal of raising more than $110,000 to support vital community programs.
