The Santa Barbara Black Culture House will have a table at the Juneteenth celebration, 11 a.m-5 p.m. Saturday, June 15 in Old Town Lompoc (at H Street and Cypress near the Lompoc Museum).

Juneteenth marks a national day of freedom for the Black/African Diaspora, bringing the community together in fellowship.

The keynote speaker will be Iris Rideau, the first female African-American winery owner in the United States, from Rideau Vineyard in the Santa Ynez Valley.

The Lompoc event will feature live entertainment by the ’90s Babiez, a tribute band to classic radio and club hitsof the ’90s; food and marketplace vendors; and kids activities.

The Santa Barbara Black Culture House table will display photos and materials from previous Culture House events, and visitors are invited to offer their thoughts about the Culture House.

Black Culture House t-shirts, and copies of Darrell McNeill’s just released book “The Isley Brothers, 33 1/3” (Bloomsbury Publishing), an exploration of one of popular music’s most accomplished performers.
