The Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce has announced the following winners of its 2020 Annual Awards:

Scott Reardon, Volunteer of the Year Award; Devika Stalling, Lompoc Valley Woman of the Year; Victor Jordan, Lompoc Valley Man of the Year; Senior Home Health, Hospice & Senior Services, Small Business Excellence Award.

Along with chamber awards, winners received custom crafted bouquets and the mayor’s proclamations during a recent photo opportunity. All four winners will receive certificates from the offices of 4th District Supervisor Peter Adam, Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham, and Congressman Salud Carbajal.

“We felt it important to honor the time and commitment of the men and women who make Lompoc a better place, even if a formal banquet wasn’t possible,” said Amber Wilson, Lompoc Valley Chamber president/CEO. “We cannot wait until we have the opportunity to celebrate these amazing humans in a ceremony deserving of their efforts.”

Reardon, owner of Scott Reardon’s Locksmith Service, has been a long-time chamber member, as well as volunteer. For years, he has dedicated his time to the Old Town Market committee, has been the organizer of the weekly live music at the summertime Old Town Market, and is a supporter and participant in any small business projects hosted by the chamber.

In accepting the award for Small Business Excellence on behalf of Superior Home Health, Hospice, & Senior Services, Pablo Martinez said, “This really is for the whole business; every person that works for us devotes so much of their time and effort.”

Not only has Superior Home Health been known for its gentle and thorough care for seniors for more than a decade, when COVID-19 began to hit the Lompoc Valley in March, Martinez wrote an open letter to the public, offering the support of Superior Home Health for free to seniors and those who are immunocompromised.

“At this time Superior Senior Home Health is here to serve our community,” Martinez wrote. “Please take care of yourselves and your loved ones. I know we’re going to get through this together.”

No stranger to hard work, Stalling is best known for her role at the United Boys & Girls Club in Lompoc, but is known throughout the community for her dedication to the youth of the Lompoc Valley.

Born and raised in Lompoc, her efforts and outreach have propelled the Boys & Girls Club to outstanding heights, catching attention from the organization by winning several national awards. Outside of the Boys & Girls Club, Stalling has devoted her time to other youth-based non-profit organizations, fundraising events, and more.

Jordan is known as the “man about town.” He has worked tirelessly to create, edit and distribute The Lompoc Vision newspaper every month for the last 16 years, free of charge to anyone who wants to read “good news you can use.”

His smiling face is seen all over Lompoc, especially at both the Lompoc and Vandenberg rotaries, chamber events, and as a board member for Community Partners in Caring. Jordan also produces annually The Lompoc Tourism Guide, also free to the public and full of information on all the amenities Lompoc has to offer.

Jordan donates time as a DJ, photographer, and videographer, showcasing his dedication and pride of the valley he calls home.

“I like to show the best side of Lompoc because I really do love this town,” he said after receiving his award.

One-minute videos have been created for each of the winners, featuring congratulatory messages from Lompoc Mayor Jenelle Osborne, Carbajal, Supervisor-Elect Bob Nelson, and Cunningham. They can be found at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7qXmlJ9w6o and on the Lompoc Valley Chamber Facebook page.
