The Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce invites businesses in the Lompoc Valley, including those in Vandenberg Village and Mission Hills, to participate in Small Business Saturday, Saturday, Nov. 27.
To be a part of Small Business Saturday, businesses sign up online and donate items such as goodies, gifts, or gift certificates to the Small Business Saturday raffle baskets. Leading up to the event, businesses promote their participation and upcoming deals, discounts or promotions.
On Small Business Saturday, customers pick up a map at participating businesses listing the names and locations of those businesses, encouraging shoppers to visit their storefronts.
Once customers have had their maps validated at four participating businesses (purchase necessary), they turn in the map, which enters the customer into a raffle for one of the raffle baskets.
The cost is free for chamber members, $35 for prospective members (plus the donated items for the baskets). Sign up deadline is Monday Nov. 15; donated items must be turned in by Thursday, Nov. 18.
Maps can be picked up at the chamber building after Nov. 18 and until Nov. 24. The first three businesses to register will receive a free swag bag with Small Business merchandise. Valid completed maps must be turned in by the customers to the chamber by Monday, Dec. 6.
