The Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce invites businesses of the Lompoc Valley to a Sexual Harassment Prevention Training Seminar, 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, in the chamber office’s upstairs conference room, 111 S. I St.
Hosted in partnership with Lompoc Valley Chamber member Morris & Garritano Insurance, the interactive seminar will be facilitated by Marcove Executive Training and will ensure staff understands their responsibility in helping to create a safe, productive and harassment-free work environment.
At the end of successful completion in the course, proof of attendance and a certification of completion will be provided.
According to Senate Bill 778, all California businesses with five or more employees, both supervisory and non-supervisory, must be trained by Jan. 1, 2021, and those newly hired within six months of hiring or promotion and every two years thereafter.
Employees hired seasonally must be trained within 30 calendar days or within 100 hours worked, whichever comes first, by Jan. 1, 2020. Non-supervisory employees require one hour of training while supervisory employees require two hours of training.
The Nov. 13 seminar is free for chamber members; $25 per supervisor and $10 per employee for prospective members. Due to the nature of the course, registration is required, and enrollees must be on time in order to be certified.
