The Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce had announced the appointment of Michael Boyer as its new president/CEO, effective June 10.

Boyer brings experience in operations, technology, marketing, and community engagement to his new role. He currently serves as the board chair for Epic Entertainment, and supports his family’s real estate business Pismo Beach Homes.

Boyer has served on numerous local boards, such as San Luis Obispo Chamber and South County Chamber in addition to other organizations such as SLO YMCA, Lumina Alliance and the Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation.

He is a founding director of Diversity Coalition San Luis Obispo County and previously served as a board member to the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Boyer’s background also includes his tenure as the CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Mid Central Coast, where he spearheaded a period of growth, achieving over 100% expansion in just three years. He was COO of Digital West Networks, where Inc. Magazine recognized the company as one of the 5,000 fastest-growing companies in the U.S.

Boyer has orchestrated successful mergers and acquisitions, such as the merger of Stand Strong and Rise as the board chair at Stand Strong, consolidating efforts against sexual assault and intimate partner violence in SLO County.

“I am excited to build upon the remarkable work of the Board of Directors, Glenn Morris, and the outstanding chamber team,” Boyer said. “Their achievements over the past decade have been impressive.”

“We look forward to collaborating with community stakeholders to expand our membership and create partnerships and programs that support the growth of underserved small businesses,” Boyer said. “All of this will be done while continuing to lead the region in economic development, tourism marketing, and business advocacy.”

“The Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce board of directors voted unanimously in appointing Michael Boyer as the chamber’s next CEO,” said Paul Cook, CEO of CoastHills Credit Union and current chair of the Santa Maria Valley Chamber.

“We believe Michael possesses a great collaborative spirit as he will interact with the members of the Chamber and community. We are genuinely lucky to have Michael’s amazing background and skill join our team,” Cook said.

Boyer and his family live in Arroyo Grande, California.
