No need to stay up late to ring in the new year. MOXI invites the community to celebrate at a more family friendly time with a Noon Year’s Eve party.
The festivities will include new year’s crafts, dance and music workshops, face-painting, a DJ dance party, reflections on the year gone by and ahead, and a MOXI-fied countdown to 2020.
The museum will be closed to general admission and will instead host two ticketed special events, one from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. with a countdown at noon; and a second from 1-3:30 p.m. with a countdown at 3 p.m.
Tickets start at $8 for members; $15 for the general public. Tickets for the morning and afternoon sessions are available online at moxi.org/nye.
Admission to the party includes all activities, access to all three floors of the museum including the Innovation Workshop and new temporary art installations on the second floor.
The celebrations will feature activities across all three floors such as crafting noisemakers, adding your own mark to a collaborative fireworks mural, and customizing rainbow glasses for a colorful outlook on 2020.
There also will be partner programming with Kathy and Friends from Kindermusik as well as a family friendly hip hop workshop hosted by The Dance Network.
Everyone attending will be invited to participate in a celebratory countdown to the new year that can be viewed from both the first and second floors.
