Composer and songwriter Sterling “Bud” Sloan is being honored through a new compilation album, “1950’s Music Gems – Best of Bud Sloan.”

“Sloan, a pivotal force in the music industry amassed a catalog of hits that have captivated listeners for decades,” said his daughter Bonnie Yonker Hammett, who lives in Carpinteria.

Through his role in launching numerous artists and performers on his record labels Mecca Records and Country Gospel Music, Sloan was a visionary figure in the music industry.

Curated to highlight Sloan’s illustrious career, the new nostalgic album features a range of genres from rock & roll to pop and country, showcasing Sloan’s diverse musicality and talents, Yonker Hammett said.

In addition to his daughter, several of Sloan’s family members have Santa Barbara area connections. His grandson Chad Yonker went to UCSB; and his great-grandchildren attend schools in Carpinteria and Santa Barbara.

Helping to keep his grandfather’s music alive is Eric Yonker of Carpinteria, who is involved with the placements.

The “1950’s Music Gems – Best of Bud Sloan” album features 20 hit tracks that have been remastered, delivering enhanced audio for listeners while sustaining the classic, vintage sound.

The album, whose sentimental tone will transport listeners to a bygone era of music, features 1950’s artists and performers, such as The Adventurers, The Vanguards, and The Chanticleers.

These vintage songs by Bud Sloan are available on Amazon Music, Apple Music, iTunes, Spotify, and Deezer.
