Business owners in Old Town Goleta are invited to submit their applications now for the city’s new Pride of Place (POP) Grant.

The Goleta City Council approved the Old Town POP Grant Program in January, allocating $120,000, with an average award expected to range from $3,000-$10,000.

In their applications, Old Town business owners can submit ideas on how they would enhance a sense of place and attract more customers to this historic part of the city.

If accepted, the merchants would receive funding to implement the idea(s) offered in their application.

Application deadline is Monday, March 3. Submit your application online here or access the printable form here.

An application workshop will take place 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18 at the Goleta Community Center, 5679 Hollister Ave. Spanish interpretation will be available.

There is no cap to the maximum funding request, and each proposal will be evaluated based on the following criteria, the city said:

• Alignment with program goals
• Positive community impact
• Creativity and innovation
• Feasibility
• Community engagement
• Business collaboration
