Noozhawk’s ParentNooz Camp Guide is finally here, and we’ve provided the necessary information to help parents and their children decide which programs will be the best fit for them this summer!
To do this, Noozhawk conducted a series of interviews with representatives of local programs for this year’s Summer Camp Guide.
In this interview, Noozhawk sat down with Jeff Johnson, Founder and Camp Director at one. Soccer Schools to learn more about the summer sessions they are offering this year.

Question: What is the name of your camp or program?
Answer: one. Soccer Schools Elite Day and Residential Soccer Camps
Q: What is the focus of your camp or program?
A: Our camp provides innovative, challenging and enjoyable (fun) curriculum designed to support the modern day soccer athlete in his or her quest to become an elite soccer player and the best they can be. These positive tools are the building blocks in our ‘Fail Your Way to Success’ philosophy and are crucial for the individual players maximum growth, development and overall success both on and off the field!
Q: How many years has the camp been running? Do you have any professional accreditations or certifications?
A: one. Soccer Schools has been running for 23 years. Coaches have USSF & UEFA licenses and have played at club, collegiate, or professional level.
Q: What protocols does your camp have in place due to COVID-19?
A: Camp is outdoors and all county guidelines are being followed.
Q: What goals do you have for kids participating in your camp or program?
A: Our youth curriculum is innovative, challenging and FUN. This is ideal for the complete modern day player, focusing on the technically savvy and creative game aspects, along with the decision making and overall soccer IQ (Tactical Awareness).
Q: Describe a typical day for a child attending your camp or program.
A: As part of the one. Soccer School package, all players receive a one. Soccer School Uniform, which includes a jersey and a one. Soccer Schools soccer ball. Camp schedules may include the following topics: Soccerize, goal scoring, speed, agility, technique, dribbling, possession and transition games, foot volley, small sided games, nutrition, and yoga.
Q: What is the staff to child ratio? Do you require training or background checks for your employees?
A: All coaches undergo and have to pass a background check and risk management check.
Q: What is the best part, in your opinion, about your camp or program?
A: Camps deliver trust, confidence, knowledge and safety. Our camps teach players technical skills, tactical awareness, confidence and teamwork. At one., we know that our players are the future of soccer and we take pride in providing a fun and safe training environment. Our staff has been handpicked for their experience, knowledge, passion, enthusiasm and ability to teach youth players.
Q: In what ways is your camp or program educational?
A: There is no way a player can leave this program without improving a ton, having a better understanding of the overall game when attacking or defending and a higher level of confidence both as a soccer player and a human being looking to be a CHAMPION in all facets of life! We create an environment where players learn, improve, and ultimately have a blast!
Q: What is the age and price range of your camp? Do you offer any scholarships? *

- Residential Camps for Field Players and Goalkeepers (5 and 10 day camps) for ages 9-18.
- 5 day camps: 6/19-6/23, 6/24-6/28, 7/10-7/14, 7/15-7/19.
- 10 day camps: 6/19-6/28, 7/10-7/19. Price varies: $799-$1899.
- Location: Cate School, 1960 Cate Mesa Rd., Carpinteria.
- Elite Day Camps for Field Players and Goalkeepers. Camps are available for ages (Jetts: 3-4), (Juniors: 5-8) and (Premier: 9-16) with half and full day options.
- 6/13-6/17 and 8/1-8/5. Prices varies: $119-$359.
