The Performing Arts Scholarship Foundation (PASF) Board of Directors approved the nomination of Neil DiMaggio to its board at the organization’s July 20 meeting.
“We are delighted to welcome Neil to the board. His professional skills will be a great asset, along with his dedication to the success of young musicians. His presence on the board will be an extraordinary complement to the mission of our foundation,” said Deborah Bertling, PASF president.
As a professional and collaborative pianist, DiMaggio has performed with a number of local professional groups. He is a performer and private piano instructor, an instructor for Westmont Academy for Young Artists, Collaborative Pianist for Santa Barbara Music Club and Westmont College Choir.
He is an active member of Music Teacher’s Association of California and Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement.
DiMaggio earned his bachelor of music, piano performance (summa cum laude) from San Jose State University. He earned his master of music, piano performance degree from San Francisco Conservatory of Music, focusing on solo piano, harpsichord and Musicology. He then earned his master of music, collaborative piano from UCSB, focusing study in collaborative piano, solo piano, ensemble for contemporary music, musicology and diction.
DiMaggio is children’s church leader for Santa Barbara Community Church; a scoutmaster for Boy Scouts Troop 4, Goleta,;and serves the community as a pianist for hospitals, retirement homes and the Santa Barbara Rescue Mission.
The PASF was formed in 1982 by the late Mrs. Lincoln Dellar to provide aid to deserving vocal and instrumental students with professional potential who live and/or study in the Santa Barbara area. For more information about the PASF and its annual awards program, visit pasfsb.org.
