The city of Carpinteria’s AgeWell Program, in partnership with the SBCC School of Extended Learning, invites the community to Portraits of Life After Service, a tribute honoring veterans and first responders through photography and storytelling.
The event, which is free to attend, is at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6 at the Alcazar Theatre, 4916 Carpinteria Ave., Carpinteria. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Reservations are encouraged at www.thealcazar.org.
The evening will feature original photographs created by veterans and first responders participating in a specialized SBCC photography class designed to foster creativity and connection.
Instructors Bill and Steve Espinosa will introduce the program and share how they collaborated with participants to collect and shape this powerful body of work.
Brief storytelling segments and discussions with the photographers will enhance the audience’s understanding of the experiences behind each image.
