Santa Barbara County Public Health officials reported 61 cases of the novel coronavirus on Tuesday, and no additional fatalities.
There have been eight COVID-19-related deaths reported countywide in the last two weeks, and the county’s cumulative COVID-19 death toll stands at 550.
There were 36 patients hospitalized for the virus on Tuesday, including nine in intensive-care units.
Of the new cases reported Tuesday, 36 were from the Santa Maria Valley and seven were from the Santa Barbara area.
The Goleta Valley and the Lompoc Valley each reported four new cases, Isla Vista logged two, and the Santa Ynez Valley and the unincorporated areas of South County each added one new case.
There were six cases still pending geographic location.
Twenty-one of Tuesday’s new cases were among people between the ages of 30 and 49, 14 were among residents below the age of 17, 12 were among people between the ages of 18 and 29, 11 were among people between the ages of 50 and 69, and three were among residents over the age of 70.
There were 493 cases still considered to be infectious across the county.
