Justin Redmond

Justin Redmond of Quinn Fiduciary Services (QFS) is the newest board member for the nonprofit Santa Barbara Council of Charitable Gift Planners (SBCCGP).

A private fiduciary at Santa Barbara-based QFS, Redmond recently joined the 10-member SBCCGP Board of Directors, which governs the local chapter of the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners.

The board is planning for its next quarterly community meeting, noon Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Harry’s Plaza Café. The luncheon meeting is geared to inform professionals about charitable giving options for donors and clients.

Charitable giving is a vital topic among fiduciaries at QFS, which acts in various positions of trust and confidence for its clients, including as trustee, safeguarding assets; in estate administration, as executor; and in conservatorship, advocating on behalf of clients.

Affiliated with QFS for three years, Redmond took it upon himself about a year ago to start attending SBCCGP board meetings to inform himself, so he could better serve his clients who may be considering charitable giving in their estate plans.

“Planned giving is a topic of interest to some of my clients,” Redmond said. “Some have the means and desire to give to charities, but often they’re not sure how to do that.”

Redmond enjoyed attending the community meetings: “It’s always informative, and I really like the group of professionals there,” he said. “It’s a great mix of different organizations that are represented.”

He let the board members know he might be interested in serving, “but it was a surprise when they actually asked,” he said. “I did have to give it some thought, but it’s the people, along with just the general education, that ultimately made me decide to join.”

“With Justin’s expertise in estate administration, he is a terrific new member to our local Charitable Gift Planners board. We are honored to welcome him,” said board president Anne Kratz.

A Southern California native, Redmond earned a bachelor of science degree in business economics from UCSB. He became a licensed professional fiduciary in 2015 and is a member of the Professional Fiduciaries Association of California.

The Santa Barbara Council of Charitable Gift Planners, formerly known as the Planned Giving Round Table of Santa Barbara, is a professional association for nonprofit development officers and allied professionals in financial, legal, accounting and consulting services.
