The Latinos Unidos Club will bring the Righetti High School community together to share in the Latin American tradition of Día de los Muertos, 11:20-11:45 a.m., Friday, Oct. 30.
The celebration remembers and honors loved ones who have passed away, while celebrating life and Latino culture.
Highlighting the event will be a performance by Ballet Folklórico and the Marimba Band.
In addition to the rally, students and school staff will raise funds by offering skull-inspired face-painting designs.
Students hope to create a fun and festive space where faculty, staff and students can come together as a community, the school said.
“The goal of the club is to continue providing representation and introducing this tradition to new staff members and students who have not yet had the opportunity to celebrate the Day of the Dead rally with us,” said Genesis Lopez, Latinos Unidos Club co-advisor.
“The Latinos Unidos Club works hard to bring our student body together, and its members are very proud of their planning efforts for what I know will be a successful event,” Lopez said.
