Conducting random premises checks on Oct. 19, the “NightlifeEnforcement Team” with the Santa Barbara Police issued a citation to abar for overcrowding on the 3100 block of State Street.With approximately 10 to 11 patrons over the maximum capacity,officers believed, in the event of an emergency, the tightly packedwatering hole would prove dangerous. Despite a bouncer at the frontdoor, he couldn’t be in two places at once to manage the crowd. Whilethe front door was covered, the back door remained unguarded allowingthe overflow of patrons.
