San Marcos girls swim put together an impressive showing at the Mt. SAC Winterfest Invite on Saturday, placing fifth against some of the top teams across California.

Sierra Tallman had a big day for the Royals, finishing first in both the 100 freestyle (50.97) and the 200 freestyle (1:49.96).

Meanwhile, Taylor Steelman also had a great showing with a first-place finish in the 200 IM (2:03.77) and a second-place time of 56.92 seconds in the 100 backstroke.

Both Tallman and Steelman swam automatic CIF Div. 1 qualifying times and All-American consideration times.

The San Marcos 200 freestyle relay team of Tallman, Makenna Stretz, Sophia Hall and Sophie Yonker finished in first place as well.

Meanwhile, Tallman, Steelman, Stretz and Hall finished third in the 200 medley relay (1:47.61) and Bethany King, Steelman, Yonker and Stretz were fourth in the 400 freestyle relay (3:38.58)

“My team made me incredibly proud this weekend, we showed a lot of heart and competed really well,” San Marcos coach Chuckie Roth said.
