San Marcos High topped Los Alamitos 8-3 on Friday to move into the semifinals of the Villa Park girls water polo tournament.
Cassidy Miller led the way with three goals and Ava Stryker had two. Goalies Riley Christian and Zosia Amberger split the time in the cage and combined for 10 saves.
“Riley Christian had a big steal in the third period to take away a one-on-nobody,” said coach Chuckie Roth. “Hannah Meyer played a solid defensive effort and was able to connect for one goal.”
The Royals will play Santa Margarita in Saturday’s semifinals at 10 a.m. at Segerstrom High in Santa Ana. A victory will send the Royals into the championship game against the Agoura-Bishop’s winner at 3 p.m.
