Santa Barbara City Councilwoman Meagan Harmon gave birth to a boy, her third child, on Saturday.

Andrew Francis Harmon was born at 1:43 p.m. at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces and was 21 inches long

“We are absolutely thrilled to share news of the birth of our son, Andrew Francis. Andrew is named to honor both of his grandmothers, whose maiden names are Andrews and McAndrew, respectively,” Harmon told Noozhawk.

Her husband, Nick Harmon, is a deputy Santa Barbara County District Attorney.

“We are so grateful for our excellent care team, who provided us with truly invaluable support and an empowering, beautiful birth experience,” Harmon said.

“He came into the world with lightning speed, and our family has fallen in love with him just as quickly. Big siblings, Maura and Jack, are over the moon about their new baby brother, and Nick and I are so thankful for our now family of five.”

Harmon, who is also a member of the California Coastal Commission, attended last week’s City Council, and Coastal Commission meetings via Zoom.
