The Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History has added two professionals to its team: financial expert Brian Storr is the new chief financial officer; and Rosina Garcia, a leader in education and research, is the new director of education.
Storr joined the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History in May, bringing 25 years of finance and operations experience across transportation, telecommunications, and publishing industries.
Most recently, he served as vice president of finance and manufacturing at ABC-CLIO in Goleta. He holds a BA in government from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.
Garcia assumed the role of director of education at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History in January of this year. She holds a bachelor of science degree in earth science and a master’s in science education.
She has extensive experience in research at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, as well as teaching middle and high school science. She created Birch Aquarium’s first bilingual summer camp, demonstrating her goal to inspire future generations of scientists and conservationists.
“We are thrilled to welcome Brian and Rosina to our team,” said Luke Swetland, president/CEO at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. “Their expertise and passion will be instrumental in advancing our mission of connecting people to and inspiring curiosity for our natural world.”
