The Santa Maria Public Library will present a talk by meteorologist John Lindsay about the impacts of global climate change. The talk will be at 1 p.m. Jan. 24 at the library.

The library is hosting the event in partnership with the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Santa Maria Branch.

Lindsay, a long-time PG&E meteorologist and environmental specialist in weather forecasting, will discuss climate change; increasingly unpredictable natural disasters; and the steps communities can take now to prepare and respond.

The program will explore key issues related to climate change, including its impacts on global hunger, public health, migration, and population shifts.

A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.
