The Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department invites adults age 18 and older to enjoy a day of kayaking and a beach picnic along the Central Coast, Saturday, Sept. 27.

The outing is part of the Coastal Adventures series, a set of guided day trips that combine outdoor recreation with opportunities to explore the Central Coast and connect with others, the city said.

The Central Coast adventure will feature ocean kayaking with a guided instructor, providing participants a chance to experience the beauty of the coastline while staying active in a safe and supportive setting, the city said.

Transportation will be provided by the ity of Santa Maria. Participants will depart from the Elwin Mussell Senior Center, 510 E. Park Ave., at 10 a.m. and return at 5 p.m.

The fee includes round-trip transportation, kayak rental, and lunch. The cost is $42 for city residents, $50 for non-city residents.
